Located to the south of US 36, and mainly to the East of McCaslin Blvd, Superior's population hovered at around 250 since it's main coal mine closed in 1945. With the construction of new homes in the 90s, Superior experienced a growth rate bringing its current population to right around 10,000. Anchored by big box stores like Target, Costco, and Whole Foods, and providing easy access to Boulder and Denver, Superior's larger homes in a variety of price points appeal to many families and individuals looking to live in Boulder County.
