Boulder has been described as "twenty-five square miles, surrounded by reality" and many would say that is an apt description. A beautiful college town, nestled at the base of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Boulder has developed a reputation as personality all its own. Since Boulder is an island with finite growth potential (it is surrounded by a greenbelt to preserve the integrity of the city, and prevent its sprawl), housing prices have been steadily increasing, with the average price per square foot hovering at around $300 (data taken December '12). This equates to a 1000 square foot home costing $300,000, just to put it in perspective. With its high quality school system and healthy life style, many agree it is worth the price to live in paradise.
