Lafayette is located North of Denver, and East of Boulder (for the most part between Arapahoe and Northwest Parkway, and bordering HWY 287). It is a historic mining town that has preserved its Old Town district along Public Rd. Housing ranges from historic cottages and bungalows built in the late 1800s, to brand new energy-efficient communities. A number of events held yearly along Public Rd, including the Peach Festival, Oatmeal Festival, and Lafayette Days, help showcase why Lafayette is a destination for people moving to East Boulder County.
